Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information AlexFisher collects when you use our website, accounts, community and marine/fishing tools, why we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to visitors and members of the AlexFisher website, including anyone who creates an account, joins the community, uses a fishing or marine condition tool, or uploads a photo, screenshot or map for analysis. AlexFisher is operated by the AlexFisher team.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use AlexFisher, we may collect:

• Your name and email address
• Account and login data, including authentication provider (email/password or Google sign-in)
• Profile information, such as display name, avatar/photo and role
• Selected fishing locations, activities and preferences
• Community posts, comments, replies, reactions and messages
• Uploaded fishing spot photos, satellite screenshots, maps or coastline images, including images submitted to "Read My Fishing Spot"
• Tool inputs you provide, such as target fish, fishing style, tide, wind and tackle preferences
• Purchase and subscription data, if and when shop or paid membership features become active
• Device, browser, IP address and analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies
• Support communications you send us, including the content of any request or report

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide marine condition tools, forecasts and planning features
• Run AI-assisted analysis for tools such as "Read My Fishing Spot"
• Operate community features, including posts, comments and reactions
• Process orders, payments and subscriptions where those features are active
• Manage membership and subscription status
• Respond to support requests and reports
• Maintain the security and integrity of the service, including detecting abuse or fraud
• Understand usage and improve the site through analytics
• Send marketing communications, but only where you have given consent or another valid legal basis applies

4. AI processing disclosure

Tools such as "Read My Fishing Spot" currently analyse your image and inputs using an internal, client-side pattern-analysis system built into the website — this analysis runs in your own browser, and no third-party AI service provider is used for it today. If a third-party AI service is introduced for a tool in the future, this policy will be updated to name it before that change takes effect. AI-style output is an estimate based on visible patterns in the image and the information you supply — it is not verified fact. See our AI Disclaimer for details on the limits of this analysis.

5. Third-party service providers

We work with third-party providers to run AlexFisher. Account authentication and the application database are provided by Supabase. The website is hosted on Vercel. No optional analytics service is currently enabled on AlexFisher. Online payment processing is not currently enabled on AlexFisher. These providers only receive the data needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. This section will be updated if that changes.

6. Data retention

We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Community content remains visible while your account exists, consistent with the Community platform's purpose. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, subject to information we must keep for legal, security or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

Community content is visible to other signed-in members, so please avoid posting sensitive personal information. Private uploads made to AI analysis tools remain private by default and are not automatically shared to the Community — see our User Content Policy.

8. Children and minors

AlexFisher is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us using the details below and we will take steps to remove it.

9. International data transfers

Because our service providers may be located in different countries, your information may be processed or stored outside the country where you are located. Where this happens, we expect appropriate safeguards to be in place for that transfer.
