ALEXFISHER SAFETY

Marine Safety

Last updated 16 September 2026

Please read this page carefully before entering the water. AlexFisher provides forecasts and activity guidance for planning purposes only — it does not tell you whether it is safe to fish, surf, kayak or enter the water.

Good Fishing Activity does not mean Safe to Fish.

A high fishing, surfing or kayaking activity rating on AlexFisher describes conditions that are typically favourable for that activity. It says nothing about whether it is safe for you, personally, to enter the water at that time and place.

Conditions can change rapidly

Wind, swell, tide, current and weather can change faster than any forecast updates. A spot that looks calm can become dangerous within minutes, especially near rocks, breakwaters and exposed coastline.

Informational only

Forecasts, activity scores, maps and AI-assisted tools on AlexFisher are informational only. They are not a substitute for official coastguard, national weather service, harbour authority, lifeguard or local-authority information, and they should never be your only source of safety information before entering the water.

Always assess conditions yourself

Before fishing, surfing, kayaking or entering any coastal area, check official local marine and weather warnings, and independently assess the actual conditions in front of you. If in doubt, do not go in.
